Don't listen to the bad reviews!

14 February 2016 | by kaylaboeckman (United States) –

I really feel like the people that rated this movie poorly either didn't see the movie and just wanted to give it bad press, or had no idea what the movie was about. The acting and effects of the movie were beyond my expectations, and as far as the storyline, it was Pride and Prejudice. I love the book and movie Pride and Prejudice, I also love zombie movies so this movie was the perfect fit for me. That being said, I feel that this movie would appeal to anyone who enjoys the zombie genre. I had a lot of fun during this movie, I was pleased that it didn't take itself seriously, yet I enjoyed the depth of the characters. I equally laughed and jumped at the shocking moments throughout this movie, and enjoyed every moment. I also must include that I almost didn't see this movie, because of the bad reviews. However, I am very glad that I didn't listen, because I feel like since this is a beloved classic book with zombies people may be upset that this movie was made in the first place. I am a huge Jane Austen fan, I find it a refreshing fun take on the storyline.

Simply Excellent.

13 February 2016 | by GoodHandsomeLad (United States) – See all my reviews

Deadpool is a 2016 film that the eighth film in the X-Men franchise where The Merc with the Mouth seeks revenge in a humorous way.

Wade Wilson is a mercenary who spends his time in New York City protecting teenage girls from would-be stalkers. He meets escort Vanessa Carlysle at a local bar and they become romantically attached for nearly a year. He proposes to her one night, then he suddenly collapses and is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Though she remains by his side, he fears losing her.

One night at the bar that he met Vanessa, he is approached by a recruiter from a secret program. He is offered an experimental cure for his cancer, but he rebuffs the man and leaves. Desperate to live, he reconsiders and leaves Vanessa in the middle of the night to undergo the procedure. He is injected with a special serum by Francis Freeman and tortured for days by Angel Dust in order to trigger a mutation. After weeks of no success, Wade is strapped into an airtight chamber after insulting Francis. The drop in oxygen triggers a healing factor that removes his cancer, but severely disfigures his face and skin in the process. He escapes from the chamber by blowing it up and attempts to kill Francis, only stopping when he claims he can cure Wade's disfigurement. He is then impaled by rebar and left for dead in the destruction of the lab.

Although he tracks her down, he cannot come to terms with his complexion, and he keeps himself away from Vanessa. Wade moves into the home of an elderly blind woman named Al, and with the advice of his best friend Weasel, he becomes a masked vigilante named "Deadpool", and begins hunting down Francis and dismantling his organization.

Following a string of leads from various syndicates, Deadpool attacks a convoy of cars on an expressway before getting his hands on Francis, demanding for a cure to his disfigurement. The confrontation is suddenly interrupted by the X-Men Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, who want him to join the team. Their intervention enables Francis to run off, and when Colossus handcuffs himself to Deadpool on their way back to the X-Mansion, Deadpool cuts off his own hand and escapes back to his home.

The next night, Weasel convinces Deadpool to go back to Vanessa, but when they arrive at the strip club she works at, Deadpool discovers that she has been kidnapped, and Francis and Angel Dust tell him to meet up with them on a decommissioned aircraft carrier at a scrapyard.

Deadpool convinces Colossus and Negasonic to help him, and the trio take a cab to the scrapyard, where Colossus and Negasonic have a grueling battle with Angel Dust while Deadpool slashes through an army of goons on his way toward Francis. Deadpool and Francis then engage in a bloody hand-to-hand combat before Negasonic uses her power to destroy the aircraft carrier. In the end, Deadpool gains the upper hand in the fight and Francis admits that there is no cure for Wade's disfigurement. Although Colossus urges Deadpool to spare Francis and be a true hero, he shoots Francis in the head, finally killing him and avenging himself. Deadpool removes his mask and shows Vanessa his new face. Though she is angry that he left her, she accepts him and they reconcile by kissing.

In a post-credits scene, Deadpool urges the audience to leave and go home, then announces that there will be a sequel involving Cable.

Just fantastic

23 July 2014 | by sarahnlance-1 (United States) – See all my reviews

I will be showing this film to a lot of people. It is way, way underrated, and incredibly funny. This is basically a more clever, better written version of Dumb and Dumber with bodybuilding and crime. If you like the sly social commentary style of Mike Judge (Idiocracy, Office Space) then you will love this movie. I gave it 10 stars because it literally made me laugh out loud dozens of times. It is so well-written, so subtle that it could easily pass for a straight action/adventure movie with a couple of gags, when in fact it is a pure comedy, every scene, the entire film. From the sex toys to the fitness jokes to the straight lines ("I want to go to Paris and France and stuff"). Quite the scathing satire of our entitlement culture and its misplaced priorities.

One of the best superhero movies yet

17 July 2015 | by subxerogravity (United States) – See all my reviews

I went into this flick not expecting much. I'm not an Ant Man fan so I was not waiting in anticipation for this as much as I wanted to see Age of Ultron.

The character that Paul Rudd plays in this movie is not the Ant Man I wanted to see, and Micheal Douglas' role as Hank Pym, the original Ant man only made me want to see him dawn the suit even more, cause Micheal Douglas was everything a superhero should be in this movie, Charming, really good dialog, and ready for action.

Overall, Ant Man surprised me. It was one of the more unique superhero movies out. Ant Man did things far beyond just punching and kicking that a lot of superheroes are doing on the big screen and went places no other super hero could go making for an action packed adventure. As cool as Ant Man was when he was regular size beating up the bad guys, was as good as when he was shrunken, riding and controlling ants in a world only he can go to.

The villain Darren Cross was actually pretty good too. Not as good as Loki, but just as psycho.

Once again, not an Ant Man fan but this movie is changing my mind. I'm so impressed with what Paul Rudd did with the character.

Not only that, but it's a great Marvel comic movie, in how it intertwines with the whole Marvel cinematic Universe.

Definitely recommend seeing in 3D cause it's that type of movie that deserves it.

Mad Max: The Retarded Castrate Edition

15 August 2015 | by ArchAngel Michael (Wields The Sword Of Light) – See all my reviews

Spoilers Ahead:

First: Max stood alone, loathed other human beings or their company (wise man), took orders from nobody even a loaded gun pointing at his face. Nowhere, in the previous three movies, is there a single scene of Max obeying anybody except Tina Turner when they made a deal in Thunderdome. Max never rode with anybody, anywhere: Hello? He is the Road Warrior he doesn't ride B. Now, this is not a movie: a two hour chase with a stop over at We Hate Men old lady land is not plot or character development. Yes, two hours of non stop chasing in the middle of a desert bores anyone with a working cerebrum and an attention span above a lobotomized chimp. Now, Tina Turner with the aid of Master Blaster ran Bartertown. She did not put Max in the passenger seat where he sits wordlessly, like a retard, where she says,"What shall I call you, Oh, well when I say Fool, you come running." In the other three movies, if any character, of any gender said that to Max they would have had the top of their head blown clean off. Please, go watch the three movies, OK? You are embarrassing yourself. The entire movie is made up of clueless Max subordinated to Furiosa who: thinks, fights, shoots and is our protagonist, ignore the lying title. As another great reviewer wrote, they knew if they put Furiosa: Avenger Of Violated Women: hey, all the Divergent Zombies would have come but that is it.

Second: whenever any group of people, of a particular race or gender, paint themselves as the repository of saintliness and all others as evil: be assured, it is utter Crap. In the dreadful Dirty Dancing, all the rich are evil. In Braveheart, the English are all evil. Here, all the men except Furiosa's pet castrate Max, and little Chalky baldy are pure evil. Every woman is the embodiment of goodness that came right from Heaven in a beam of light. I love that desert scene: Yes, the other person is right, how long was she laying in the blistering sun before our saintly castrator arrived? You know, Idiosa Furiosa Castratus? Yes, they have a little birth mother epiphany right there in the desert, where are my Kleenex? Oh, good heavens, what men have done to these leather faced, badly acting saints? Where's The Sound Of Mucus? I was all wrong; there is something magical about Maria. My birth mother was a Cuisinart. Boo Hoo!

Best TV Promo Ever? (Seriously, great advertising).

12 May 2015 | by Darth TARDIS. – See all my reviews

A review seems silly given this was a three minute promo, but it was so brilliantly done I feel it deserves one. The choreography was excellent, the music suited, the actors were obviously having so much fun- and that rubbed off on the fans. Excellent marketing idea.

The real thrill was in seeing all of these comic book characters on screen together being awesome as if they'd fallen out of a comics. Was it cheesy? Yeah. Was that a bad thing? No! That was part of its charm. Clearly given how viral it went we should see a follow up of sorts for Seasons 2 and 4 of Flash and Arrow respectively. Great job to all involved!

One of the Best Superhero movies EVER!!!!!!!

15 January 2012 | by baltazar07 – See all my reviews

I saw the dark knight about three years ago when I was in the 8th grade. And I was blown away at how beautifully done it was, the camera work, the acting, the story, it all took me by surprise. It is to this day one of the best movies I have ever seen or will see. No other movie can impact you in such an intense way than The Dark Knight. It is a movie worth seeing due to the fact that the workers put so much time and effort into this one film and they did not want to waste money putting up garbage. So Christopher Nolan, thank you for not wasting our time, instead earning our time with this film. To this day I still am anxious to see the movie at home. I recommend it to anyone who likes action movies in general. To anyone who doesn't, don't waste your time write bad reviews about this film.
